Here's the Lowdown: You can configure Microsoft Entourage® 2004 to access the email messages on your email account using POP. While exact steps may differ from version to version, these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Entourage.
Before You Start:
- Have your full email address and account password ready.
- Your incoming and outgoing server names are mail.yourdomain.com (where yourdomain.com is substitued with your domain name.) Your domain name is everything after the @ in your email address. (ie support@indesignfirm.com, indesignfirm.com is the domain name)
To Use Microsoft Entourage with POP Email
- Open Microsoft Entourage.
- From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
- Click New.
- If the Account Setup Assistant window opens, click Configure account manually.
- In the Account Type section, select POP, and click OK.
- In the Edit Account window, enter the following information:
- Account name
- An identifier for your account such as My Mail, Work, or Home
- Name
- The name to be shown on your email
- Email address
- Your full email address
- Complete the Receiving mail fields.
- Select Click here for advanced receiving options, make the following changes, and then click OK:
- POP without SSL - 110
- In the Sending mail section, enter your SMTP Server.
mail.yourdomain.com
- Select Click here for more advanced sending options and make the following changes:
- Override default SMTP port
- Select to enable
- SMTP Port
- Without SSL: 587
- SMTP server requires authentication
- Select to enable
- Use same settings as receiving mail server
- Select to enable
- Click OK.
